Building Power Through Mentorship and Career Development
At The Hillman Collective, we know that mentorship isn’t just a professional perk—it’s a survival strategy and a springboard to power. For Black women navigating complex academic, nonprofit, and corporate environments, access to guidance, sponsorship, and real support can mean the difference between stagnation and success.
We’re proud to offer a layered approach to mentorship that centers Black women’s lived experiences and aspirations:
🔹 One-on-One Mentorship
We connect early- and mid-career Black women with experienced professionals who offer tailored advice on navigating workplace politics, building confidence, and setting strategic career goals. These relationships go beyond surface-level networking—they’re rooted in trust, shared identity, and radical encouragement.
🔹 Peer and Leadership Cohorts
Our small group cohorts foster collaborative learning and peer accountability. Participants gain clarity on their career path, sharpen their leadership skills, and create long-term connections with like-minded changemakers.
🔹 For Organizations: Partnership Opportunities
Organizations looking to elevate internal talent can collaborate with us to:
Design in-house mentorship programs tailored to Black women staff and faculty.
Integrate leadership development into DEI and HR strategies.
Host joint training and mentorship events in partnership with Hillman mentors.
We believe mentorship is both a strategy for retention and a tool for liberation. When Black women are mentored with intention, we don’t just thrive—we transform systems.
