Mission Statement
The Hillman Collective is a registered 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the careers and contributions of Black women by transforming workplace cultures and fostering equitable opportunities. Founded in 2024 by Dr. Elaine Rudder, The Hillman Collective is driven by a passion for creating inclusive communities where Black women thrive as leaders and innovators.
Grounded in research and collaboration, Hillman Collective works with organizations to establish ethical and transparent compensation practices, implement collaborative leadership models, and dismantle systemic barriers that hinder progress. Beyond advocacy, we serve as an incubator for research and innovation in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with a specific focus on the experiences of Black women in higher education and across industries.
At Hillman Collective, we are committed to driving transformation by providing strategic guidance, amplifying voices, and creating pathways for advancement. Through collaboration with institutions, researchers, and leaders, we aim to inspire systemic change, ensuring Black women are empowered to reach their fullest potential and redefine leadership in every sphere.

Defining Success
Success for The Hillman Collective means Black women are thriving at every level of their careers, empowered to pursue their highest aspirations and supported by inclusive, ethical, and transparent workplaces. It looks like organizations institutionalizing equitable practices that create clear pathways to leadership, mentorship, and collaboration. Success is reflected in a vibrant global network of Black women leaders who amplify one another’s voices, dismantle systemic barriers, and set the standard for excellence across industries. Ultimately, success is not just about entering the room—it is about leading it, shaping it, and transforming it, leaving a legacy of lasting change where opportunities are abundant and the brilliance of Black women resonates for generations to come.
